HANKLEY COMMON
Hankley Common is a big course set across a vast expanse of Heathland. If you take the aerial view on a map, one can only imagine the other five 18 hole courses that could be built on the land. For now, one is enough, and it is great.
The course plays up, down and across vast heathland and from the tips, the course is a real test of ball striking. Hankley feels like an ‘original’ version of a heathland, rugged and unforgiving, but absolutely beautiful.
Whilst the first 4 holes surround the clubhouse, after the 5th, you don’t return to the clubhouse until the end. In the background you hear constant shots from the nearby military shooting range & James Bond’s childhood Scottish Highlands home, Skyfall Lodge, is actually on the common.
