WEST SUSSEX

West Sussex is the furthest of The Heathands (profiled here) from London, but it is worth the trip. The course plays home to some of the most beautiful heathland holes anywhere, especially when the heather is in bloom.

The bunkering has a Melbourne Sandbelt feel to it with sharper edges cut right into the fairway, especially on 17 & 18, two exceptional finishing holes.

Despite its relatively short length it doesn’t play as such (especially as a par 68) with a couple of par 3’s playing well over 200 yards and only one par 5.

Pulborough, as it is also known, is a 2 ball only course, meaning either singles or foursomes, but does make for a round of no more than 3 hours.
